Peppermint Bark

This is a favorite family treat around Christmas time. We love to gift it to family, friends and teachers throughout the season.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Heat oil over low heat, careful not to let it burn.
  2. Once heated add in two bags of dark chocolate & 1 tsp of peppermint extract.
  3. Heat over low heat, consistently stirring until thoroughly melted.
  4. Spread dark chocolate mixture onto a parchment lined baking sheet. Cool until hardened in a refrigerator or freezer.
  5. Once the dark chocolate mixture is hardened begin melting your white chocolate mixture the same way as above.
  6. Once the white chocolate mixture is thoroughly melted carefully spread over the dark chocolate mixture. Gently spread with a spatula.
  7. Sprinkle crushed peppermint chips on top, pressing larger pieces into the chocolate mixture.
  8. Cool in the refrigerator or freezer until hardened. This will take several hours.
  9. Once hardened break up the bark into chunks/pieces and serve.

Notes

Your peppermint bark will soften if left out on the counter. You can harden it back up by placing it in the refrigerator or freezer. We store ours in the freezer until we are ready to serve.
