Our Mission

We are the Morgan Family and are proud to be stewards of this beautiful land in the Texas Hill Country. We are raising livestock, teenagers and gardening as natural and holistically as we can with the tools God has provided.

We love taking on new adventures and learning along the way.

We believe in fresh starts, always learning something new and working hard. We believe that God has placed us here as stewards of this land and our livestock. We believe that healthy animals live in wide open spaces with lots of sunshine, and don’t need extra chemicals or antibiotics to thrive.

We believe that food can heal, and we are thrilled to be on this journey with you.

We’re a small family farm raising teenagers and livestock. Our hope is to provide you with products and services that we love, and believe in. Through pastured meat, local products and recommendations, we are striving to get more families to shop local and live a healthier lifestyle.

How do we raise our animals?

  • We rotate our animals on pasture to keep their worm load down and to help maintain the health of our pastures aka Regenerative Practices.

  • We raise our people and our animals holistically. This means that we look at the body as a whole vs the sum of its parts. Our bodies are one big system working together and one underlying problem can affect the whole body. This is why we try to find the root cause and treat that vs just giving blanket medications/supplements. We allow fevers and symptoms, believing that a healthy body can fight off most diseases. What one body needs, another body may not need. We treat individuals, not herds.

  • We feed supplemental hay in the winter months - organic is our first choice but feeding the animals is of upmost importance. In a season of drought and high prices, we do what we need to do to keep them fed first & foremost. Sometimes this means sourcing the best grain we can find.

  • We supplement with feed and minerals as needed. Our recent drought in Texas did a number on our pastures and we had to give more feed near the end of summer than we prefer.

  • When an animal needs medical attention, we try herbs and time as our first defense. We administer conventional medicine as a last resort because we believe that while there is a place for medication, most animals and humans can heal with holistic treatments when given the opportunity.

  • We do not administer vaccines to the livestock that have been born on our farm. Our people and our animals are vaccine free as long as we can avoid it. If an animal needs a vaccine to survive, it does not enter our commercial meat program. We cull animals to maintain a healthy herd for the health of our livestock and the health of our meats.
