First & foremost, this is NOT medical advice. One of the very best decisions we’ve made as a family is to find a functional medicine doctor. We have learned an incredible amount about each of our individual needs, even learning that a few of us have some major allergies that have been contributing to health problems. My best advice - find a holistic/functional medicine doctor to find out the root causes for any issues you may be experiencing.

My Why . . .
I’m always learning and one area that I love learning about the most is how to take care of my family without using conventional medicine and products. The Pandemic of 2020 gave me even more of a desire to learn and I’ve been intent on figuring out how to heal my family since then.
What if I can’t access conventional medicine, what would I do?

The biggest change you can make in the health of your family is to stop consuming processed foods. Sounds easy, right? NOT! It’s hard to get rid of all of it. That’s why most people adopt an 80/20 plan.
The first step in improving your family’s health is to greatly decrease the amount of processed food and dining out that you do. Most processed food and restaurants use unhealthy oils when cooking/preparing foods. Begin making more food at home, simplify your meals.
WATCH YOUR COOKING OILS!
Industrial seed oils are packed with unhealthy fats and can have a negative impact on our health. These oils are some of the most important things you can eliminate to improve your overall health. If you can’t eliminate them, greatly decrease them in your daily diet.
MEAL PLANNING
Simple Meal Planning is the only way our family can stay on track with healthy eating. And having a system makes this work for me.
Leftovers 2 - 3x a week, build that into your plan. Our busiest nights are always leftover nights.
Our meals are always a protein, a vegetable (usually roasted) and a side dish such as rice, potatoes or corn tortillas. We just rotate through them based off of what I can grow, raise and source locally.
Another way we swap out conventional products is through ESSENTIAL OILS. There are several brands on the market that I’d trust using in our home. None of which can be purchased from a big box store, I want really good quality oils! We use oils for diffusing and applying topically.

Headache Blend ~ 10 peppermint, 10 panaway, top off with a carrier oil (I usejo joba oil)
Allergy Blend ~ 8 peppermint, 8 lemon, 8 lavender, top off with a carrier oil
Body & Hair Serum ~ 10 tea tree, 10 peppermint, 10 lavender, top off with your favorite carrier oil
