Tips for an Organized Home

Organizing, Purging & Deep Cleaning ~ however you go about it, it always makes me feel better when I get it done. It drives my family crazy in the moment, but we’re all grateful for the purging and organizing in the end. And maybe it’s because I can feel spring is around the corner, but I’m getting the itch to deep clean and organize things again. So today, I’m sharing my spaces with you so you can get a glimpse of some of my favorite organizational items. Most of these items are repeatedly used throughout our home and to help us keep our spaces clutter free.

May it inspire you to get in there, get your hands dirty, and make that organized cabinet happen!

MY FAVORITE ORGANIZATION ITEMS

PANTRY STORAGE & ORGANIZATION:

Clear containers are my go-to. This lets me quickly see what I need to buy and allows the kids (and David) see what snacks are available. I love stacking cereal bars in these clear bins, so they stay nice and organized. Baskets are another favorite! On the floor I keep plastic drawers full of overflow items. When my overflow gets used that’s when I add items to my grocery list.

KITCHEN & LAUNDRY CABINETS:

Kitchen cabinets and drawers can so easily become cluttered! Especially if you love dishes as much as me. I have to control myself and only keep what I really love, and we really use. One thing I have to purge often is Tupperware - we don’t keep a lot anymore on purpose. If we run out then that’s a good sign, I need to clean out the refrigerator or the teenagers’ rooms. Again, clear storage is my go-to. These clear/divided lazy susans are extremely handy in a cabinet and keep me from buying multiple of items.

BATHROOM & CLOSET:

I love separating shelves into smaller compartments with clear dividers, and it keeps my purses upright. Baskets, clear bins and clear containers for the win again in closets and bathrooms. We also like to bring in wood hangers for a nice, neat look. I love slim velvet hangers for more delicate clothing such as sweaters.
